With support from Havard University and from the first Lady of Benue State, we hosted the first anti breast and cervical cancer programme of the OCI foundation, in conjunction with the Daniel Amokachi Foundation.
In the words of Dr. James Emman Kwegyir, "if you educate a man you educate an individual but if you educate a woman you educate a whole nation". As such, education for the girl child should never be taken lightly.
That's why CDM as a leading international school in Nigeria have united with other schools, foundations, the government and other stakeholders to play our part in fighting the killer called breast and cervical cancer, which kills more than 60,000 women yearly, aged 15 years and above.
We had an amzing time this week been our sports week. At CDM, one of our goal is to make learning fun, as such we engage in different activities that makes learning fun. As the saying goes, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Meaning without time off some work, a person becomes bored and boring.
Every students participated in the, sport they loved and they had fun.
It was celebration gallore as we celebrated our dear country, Nigeria on her 59th birthday. As a nation, October first holds a historic significance. It was on this day; Nigeria gained her independence from British Colonial rule. It was when the Union Jack was lowered and the Nigerian flag was hoisted.
At CDM, we join Nigerians at home and in Diaspora as we celebrate our fatherland.
