Dr Daniel T. Akuhwa hails from Mkar in Gboko Local Government area of Benue State. After graduating at South West London College in the United Kingdom as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), he joined the services of the former Bank of the North Limited as an officer. In 1999, he was elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB). Dr Akuhwa became a senior management staff through promotions and finally retired at the rank of Deputy General Manager. Determined to be a successful banker, Dr Akuhwa retained his services with the Bank until his retirement in 2003 due to merger of Banks. Dr Akuhwa also responded to the divine call of God and later became a Minister of His word after his ordination as an Evangelist/Pastor. He currently resides in his home town in Gboko, Benue State of Nigeria. Dr Akuhwa is married to Winifred Akuhwa with children.

Mrs Winifred C. Akuhwa hails from Igbodo in Ika Local Government area of Delta State. She attended Delta State University and the University of Mkar where she graduated and was awarded a degree in Business Administration.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams” [Acts 2: 17].   The Year 2002 marked the turning point of my relationship with God when divine visions and dreams started flooding into my spirit. I was still in service, but it became clearly evident that God was preparing me for some challenging Christian tasks, preparatory to my retirement (as a professional banker) the following year. I was however not aware of this early retirement which came about in the year 2003 as the result of merger of banks.

I moved by faith in obedience to do what God showed me even though my finances were too insignificant to attempt implementing the enormity of developments I envisioned in my dreams. Progress was swift as God sponsored and progressively supported what he wanted to do through me. I am grateful to God for giving me an excellent spirit to act upon his instructions; after all, they said, ‘it was just a dream’.

My lovely wife, Winifred Akuhwa, was extremely supportive of my drive to establish and sustain CDM Academy International. She demonstrated her total commitment to this task by sacrificing the comfort of our family house located in the famous Lekki Peninsula of Lagos State; consenting to its sale in order to commence the execution of the CDM project. Winifred Akuhwa became the Proprietress of the CDM Academy International in 2008. Although passed, her legacy would forever be etched in history of the institution.

Other Directors of the Academy include Eng. James O. Akuhwa, Mr. Peter A. Akuhwa and Mr. Emmanuel T. Akuhwa. James Akuhwa, graduated from the Federal University of Technology Owerri with a degree in petroleum engineering. Both Peter Akuhwa and Emmanuel Akuhwa are current graduates of Oxford Brookes University and University of Manchester respectively with degrees in Business Administration and Biomedical sciences.

Three successive dreams beginning and ending at the same predetermined stages of some structural progress of what appeared to be a special institution originated in the vision of my head upon my bed. I was deeply anxious and shared these dreams with my wife and a few associates. The interpretations were encouraging; and the decision to act upon them changed the course of my destiny to where we are today, namely, the establishment of the CDM Academy International.

After the passing of Winifred C. Akuhwa, there was a realisation that the gulf left by her was not one that could be filled by a single individual. With the addition of Victoria Akuhwa to the team, we have restructured our administrative team to work as a new collective for the elevation of our institution.

Victoria Akuhwa previously worked as an associate producer in Silverbird services and as a presenter with Liberty FM. The skills gained in communication are now implemented in the inter-relations with parents and promotion of the institution. Victoria Akuhwa also accumulated experience working with teenagers and the education sector while working as a consultant for an NGO who’s primary focus is grooming teenager in secondary school and as an ambassador representing Benue state in the OCI foundation spear heading the inclusion of breast and cervical cancer education into mainstream education.

CDM Academy is a Government approved international secondary school, certified by the Benue State Ministry of Education. The stake-holders are family members who are also Directors of the institution. It was registered at the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria. The Academy is unsubscribed.
